I wanted to drop you a quick line to say that I am about halfway through Joseph Vogel's Man in the Music and am quite enjoying it. Because so much is already widely known about MJ's work and life, there is not always a lot of new material (at least in the first half), although it is great to see a comprehensive focus on his workmanship and artistry, with the over-the-top media coverage kept in perspective. I am looking forward to what Joseph says about MJ's later work and what criticism and appreciation he has compiled for this later time in MJ's life.Tell us all about it, Jennifer. I STILL have to buy this book! There is just not enough written about those later years with regards to the music. I find it really frustrating that most things MJ related stop at the BAD album and era. So much more to learn and listen to. So much more.
